Tau Ceti

Visit Austins tallest artwork and see how beautiful the wall is with your own eyes. It almost looks not real. The artists name is  Josef Kristofoletti and he seriously did a great job. The mural is painted on a wall that is 10 floors high, pretty impressive right?

Greetings from Austin Mural

Greetings from Austin Postcard

Visit this cool mural and take a photo there. Afterwards you can explore the neighborhood and visit some good restaurants or cafes. One of the places I loved was the place Elizabeth Street Cafe. The Vietnamese food there is incredible. The place itself is also unbelievably cute and the perfect Insta spot for photos!

Another amazing restaurant in this area is called Fresa’s on South First. The grilled chicken there is super good and if you like Mexican food you found your spot! Also, a super cute garden with the most beautiful decor. Perfect for photos!

Swim at the Barton Springs

We actually never went to the Barton Springs where you have to pay entrance fee, but to a spot right next to it, where families go swimming with their kids and bring their dogs. Loved the atmosphere there. You can also rent kayaks and stand up paddling boards, which must be super fun. We spend at least 2 hours enjoying this place. The best part, it is FREE.

Visit Allens Boots

If you like cowboy boots, you really need to visit this store. If not, you still have to visit this store 😀 Honestly, it so impressive to see all those boots and see what kind of different designs and style they have. I almost ended up buying a pair, but I figured, I wont be able to wear them often in Chicago. But one day, I will buy a pair of cowboy boots.

Eat Barbecue in Austin

If you love meat and love barbecue, Austin is definitely the place to be for you. There are endless barbecue options in Austin, but what I learned, you have to get up super early to be able to taste the most amazing briskets ever. Some of the places that are famous for their Briskets are Franklin Barbecue, Blacks Barbecue, Terry Black’s and La Barbecue. Of course, there are many more, but those are the ones we had on our list.

Tip: Be there early to avoid huge lines.
