Johannes and I recently had the pleasure to visit the paradise island Bermuda and stayed at the stunning Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club and absolutely loved our 7 days there. Hamilton Princess is a Fairmont managed hotel and you can definitely feel it. First, the service at the property was exceptional. Second, the food was unbelievably good and since I am a foodie, you can trust me , when I say it was so good! Last but not least, the property and hotel beach are beautiful.

Since I first saw this pink hotel on Instagram, I’ve put it on my bucketlist. Pink is one of my favorite colors and yes, the hotel is fully PINK. Even their towels are pink, simply adorable and a girl’s dream! It is not surprising that the hotel’s nickname is the “Pink Palace” because thats what Hamilton Princess is.

Especially when booking a beach vacation, choosing the right place to stay for a longer period of time is important. Hamilton Princess in Bermuda was the perfect accommodation for us and I can’t rave enough about it. We are already looking forward to return one day.

I heard so many great things about Bermuda and really wanted a beach vacation since I have not had that in a very long time. Honestly, Bermuda should be on everyones bucketlist who loves magnificent and untouched beaches. With its crystal clear turquoise water, the white and soft sand and the stunning cliffs, Bermuda makes a wonderful tropical destination. I am huge fan of bays and Bermuda has plenty of them. Most importantly, those beaches are not crowded and you can enjoy them to the fullest without having to share it with 100 other tourists. Did you know that Bermuda is one a few places on earth where you can actually see pink beaches? Yup, you heard right, there are beaches in Bermuda that have pink sand!

Location

One of the many things that I loved about the Hamilton Princess Hotel Bermuda was the location. It is a short drive from the airport but also located in the heart of Hamilton town which means that you can walk to the city within 5 minutes. There are plenty of amazing shops and restaurants reachable by foot. I really enjoy having the freedom to just being able to walk to places. Thats one of the reasons I loved staying at the Hamilton Princess Hotel. The hotel offers hourly shuttles to their private beach that is a 20 minute drive. The ferry port and bus terminal are also a short distance away. We frequently used the local bus and ferry to get around the island! It it the perfect way to explore the island like a local!

Rooms

We had the pleasure to stay in the Fairmont Gold Harbour Kind Room and loved it. My favorite part of the room was the balcony which offered stunning views of the harbour. Our room was located in the main building of the resort and on a higher floor with views of the hotel, the courtyard and the harbour. Simply stunning! With 375 sq.ft. / 35 sq.m the rooms are pretty spacious and have all the amenities you need. The walk in closet was one of my personal highlights. I also loved the spacious and luxurious bathroom. Check out and book the room here.

Since our room was Gold-Level we had access to the Fairmont Lounge throughout the day and we enjoyed it so much. The Fairmont Lounge offers daily complimentary breakfast as well as snacks during specific times of the day. My favorite was the afternoon tea and sweets. The Hamilton Princess Hotel will make sure to spoil you during your stay!

Dine Options

The dining options at the Hamilton Princess Hotel Bermuda are amazing. As mentioned earlier you can enter the Fairmont Lounge and enjoy food throughout the day when you booked a room with Gold Level. Our favorite restaurant was 1609 overviewing the water and a perfect restaurant to enjoy a sunset. Another great option is Crown and Anchor which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you want coffee and ice cream, check out The Dutchees Cafe!

1609 Bar & Restaurant

Our favorite restaurant on the property was 1609 Bar & Restaurant. We had dinner at 1609 twice and had the pleasure to witness two incredible sunsets from the restaurant. Probably the best combination: great food and views! The restaurant is designed to be open air and oversees the bay with views on the water! I can highly recommend the seafood options at 1609 since it was super tasty! What I also loved at 1609 is that they have vegan/vegetarian options on the menu as well like the Beyond Burger or the Impossible Shepard’s Pie. 1609 also has an exceptional cocktail menu! Make sure to try some of the cocktails, they wont disappoint!

Crown & Anchor

We had not had the chance to dine at Crown & Anchor but we only heard good things. You can have breakfast lunch and dinner here and enjoy live music on some days as well!

Fairmont Lounge

Let me tell you that the service at the Fairmont Lounge is incredible! The staff is unbelievably friendly and knows how to make you feel and your stay special. It is almost as they can read your mind! I have never experienced such exceptional service and loved visiting the Lounge. The breakfast always was delicious offering a variety of fruits, charcuterie boards, yoghurts, breads and warm dishes. Throughout the day the Fairmont Lounge offered a variety of snacks and sweets!

The Dutchees Cafe & Gelateria

Not only is the coffee and the ice cream delicious at the Dutchees Cafe & Gelateria but the place itself is so also super cute and picturesque! Make sure to stop by for coffee and some ice cream!

Common Spaces: Pool, Princess Beach Club, Art and Courtyards

The amenities of the Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club do not disappoint. You have plenty of areas to completely unwind and relax! You can choose to relax at two pools: one adult pool and one infinity pool. Both gorgeous, but we preferred chilling at the infinity pool, especially during sunsets. The views from there are fantastic! Another gorgeous spot to relax and spend the day is the Princess Beach Club. You can take a shuttle from the hotel to the Beach Club and enjoy the beach! With a restaurant, bar and plenty of activities on the water you will not get bored and will have everything you need! You can also book a BBQ dinner at the Beach Club and dine right by the water. It was a wonderful experience with tasty food, amazing views and life music.

You can rent paddle boards and kayaks for free and there is even a playground for kids! I loved sipping my cocktail in one of the 3 hammocks and staying cool in the water! The courtyards around the property are also just lovely to stroll around! Since the hotel is so picturesque you will always have something pretty to look at.

Art lovers will have a blast at the Hamilton Princess Hotel Bermuda because the whole hotel property is basically like an art gallery. The hotel carries pieces from famous artists from all over the world and you find beautiful art pieces while strolling through the property. I honestly never stayed in a hotel like this before and loved this unique feature!

Things to do in Bermuda

Bermuda is an incredible island with some of the most stunning beaches and bays I have ever seen! It should be on everybody’s bucketlist who loves the sun, ocean and pink beaches! As mentioned earlier, we only used the bus and ferry to get around the island. The tickets are not too expensive and prices depend on the zone you are driving to. Bermuda is famous for its pink beaches and one of the most famous ones is Horseshoe Bay! It is a long beach with beautiful rocks on both sides and the most turquoise water and pink beach! The second beach where you can admire pink sand is Elbow Beach. I highly recommend visiting at least one of those!

If you are looking to explore some coves and beaches I would do the short walk starting from Jobson’s Cove and walking along the beach all the way to Horseshoe Bay Cove! Along this way you will see multiple beaches that are all absolutely stunning. My personal favorite was Jobson’s Cove. Since it is a cove you can swim and snorkel here!

Another great option for snorkeling is Tobacco Bay. To reach Tobacco Bay you can either take a taxi or take the bus St George’s and walk the rest from the bus station. Buses start at the bus terminal at Hamilton. We paid 9 dollars per person for a roundtrip. Tobacco Bay also makes a great spot to explore some cliffs and coves. It is absolutely stunning! When in St George’s check out the Unfinished Church as well and wander around this part of the town. It is lovely!

If you want a bit more history you can also explore one of the many forts in Bermuda. We took a ferry to Royal Naval Dockyards in the afternoon and explored this area for a bit!

Last but not least, you need to put the Crystal and Fantasy Caves on your list when you visit Bermuda. The caves are truly unique and offer an experience you wont forget. The Crystal and Fantasy Caves were formed over millions of years and feature stunning azure underground pools and incredible formations. Tickets to both caves cost 35 $ and take 1 hour. If you only want to see one cave it is 24$ and the tour takes 30 minutes.
